Piller has surgery on injured arm, out three to five months
Titans guard Zach Piller’s season could be over after surgery to repair his ruptured left biceps.
Piller underwent surgery Monday and is expected to miss three to five months. He could be placed on injured reserve, which would end his season, but Titans spokesman Robbie Bohren said Tuesday that decision hasn’t been made yet.
Piller was hurt in Saturday’s 17-7 win against Miami, and tests Sunday revealed the injury pulled the tendon of the muscle off the bone.
The Titans wanted a second opinion before Piller underwent surgery, and he traveled to see a specialist in Miami who performed the procedure.
Piller will be replaced Sunday by rookie Jacob Bell, who played in a handful of snaps in the team’s game against the Dolphins. Bell, a fifth-round draft pick out of Miami of Ohio, started for Piller in the preseason against Green Bay.
