Lora Simons, 83

Birmingham, Ala., resident and Van Buren County native Lora Simons, 83, died Sept. 10 at University of Alabama Birmingham Hospital.

A waitress and sitter, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Elilian Johnson Simons. She is survived by cousin Dorothy Rains of McMinnville; several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Graveside services will be held at 4 p.m. today at Riverside Cemetery with Nestor Stewart officiating. There will be no visitation.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
