Tennis tourney draws 78

Last weekend the annual Security Federal Tennis Tournament was held at the McMinnville Civic Center courts.

The event drew 78 players in 12 divisions. Each entrant received a goody bag and awards were given out to winners and finalists in each division.

Division included men’s and women’s singles A, B, and C and men’s 60+, as well as junior singles. Doubles and mixed doubles concluded this years tournament as awards were handed out last Sunday.

Winners included, Elisha Ray, first place women’s A singles. Women’s A doubles winners were Martha Gillespie and Marsa Naron. Mixed A doubles were Tim and Kay Wrathers. Mixed B doubles, Chuck Joyce and Marge Naron. Men’s A doubles, Steve Smith and Robert Buck. Men’s B doubles, Lester Cowell and Jed Cowell. Men’s A singles, Evan King. Men’s 60 doubles, Lester Cowell and Glenn Moore. Men’s B singles, Ken Smith. Girl’s 12 singles, Mio Nakagawa. Boy’s 12 singles Dustin Morris and boy’s 10 singles Mitchell Fuqua.
