Greg Darnbush, Barbara Jean Simons Lemons (Barbie Doll), T.F. (Buck) Mayfield, Frankie Lee Scruggs, Bonnie Charlene Pinegar Flint, Kenneth Vaughn Welch

Greg Darnbush, 36
Rock Island resident and Warren County native Greg Darnbush, 36, died Jan. 27 at River Park Hospital after an extended illness.

A forklift operator with Findley Industries and a member of New Union Methodist Church, he was the son of Ray and Ann McCormick Darnbush of McMinnville.

He is survived by his wife, Melissa Darnbush; daughter, Brittany Janae Darnbush of Rock Island; son, Kell Garland Darnbush of Rock Island; brother, Brad Darnbush of Jonesville, Va.; sister and brother-in-law, Kim and Billy Hammons of McMinnville; grandmother, Lula Mae McCormick of McMinnville; nephews, Andrew Sims and Garrett Hammons; and nieces, Misti, Asia, and Savanah Darnbush and Jessika Hammons.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Tim Lewis and Brent McPeak officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery.

Barbara Jean Simons Lemons (Barbie Doll), 43
McMinnville resident and Warren County native Barbara Jean Simons Lemons, 43, passed away Jan. 26 at her residence from an unknown illness.

A retirement management employee and a graduate of Warren County Senior High, she was the daughter of George Simons and Billie Simons.

She is survived by her husband, Jeffery E. Lemons; stepson, Nick Cuma of LaPorte, Ind.; brothers, Wil Simons and Jerry (Skip) Simons, both of Spencer; sister, Anita Nunley of McMinnville; four nieces and four nephews; several aunts and uncles, father-in-law, Eugene Lemons of LaPorte, Ind.; several brothers and sisters-in-law; and many loving friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Ernest McBride officiating. Burial will follow at Morrison Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until time of service today at High’s. Memorials may be made to Magness Memorial Library.

T.F. (Buck) Mayfield, 75
McMinnville resident and Warren County native T.F. (Buck) Mayfield, 75, died Jan. 26 at Tennessee Veteran’s Home.

Retired from the U.S. Navy after 21 years, he served his country in the Korean and Vietnam wars and was a member of the Church of Christ, Eagles Club, Royal Order of the Moose, and was a member and past commander of VFW Post 5064.

The son of Waymon and Eva Higginbotham Mayfield, he is survived by brothers and sisters, Harold Mayfield, Frank Mayfield, Waymon Mayfield, all of McMinnville, Alma Haley of Denton, Texas, and Bobbie Langley of Nashville; stepbrother, Lee Blair of Rock Island; seven nieces, four nephews, several great-nieces and great-nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. today at High’s Chapel with Lane Dix officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory with military graveside rites administered by VFW Post 5064 and American Legion Post 173. Visitation will be held from 9 a.m. until time of service today at High’s.

Frankie Lee Scruggs, 65
McMinnville resident and Grundy County native Frankie Lee Scruggs, 65, died unexpectedly Jan. 26 at River Park Hospital.

A retired machinist at Accu-Router, he was the son of Jim and Lola Sanders Scruggs; and was preceded in death by stepfather, Oscar B. King; and sisters, Minnie Lee King and Rosa Nell Hammers.

He is survived by his wife Wilma Elene Scruggs; daughter, Melissa Dunlap of Rock Island; sons, Mark and Anthony Scruggs, both of McMinnville and Alton Scruggs of Beersheba Springs; brothers, John Scruggs of Gruetli-Laager and Ted Scruggs of Grundy County; sister, Gertrude Coppinger of Irving College; several nieces and nephews.

Services were held Tuesday at High’s Chapel with Cotton Ross officiating. Burial followed at Center Hill Cemetery at Hills Creek.

Bonnie Charlene Pinegar Flint, 47
Morrison resident and Manchester native Bonnie Charlene Pinegar Flint, 47, died Jan. 25 at Manchester Health Care Center after an extended illness.

A nursing home employee and a member of the Women of the Moose Lodge 869, she was the daughter of the late Homer Pinegar and Nora Elizabeth Smith Pinegar Gilreath; and was preceded in death by son, Kevin Dwayne Myers; and brother, William Homer Pinegar.

She is survived by her husband, Lewis Alexander Flint; daughter, Melissa Myers of Morrison; son, James Nash of Whitehall; grandchildren, Anthony, Tony, and Austin Adams, Danille, Dellan and Haley Nash; brothers, Dewayne Pinegar, Josh Gilreath and David Spry, all of Summitville, Ronnie Pinegar of Smartt Station, Donnie Pinegar of Morrison, and Jeremy Pinegar of Manchester; sisters, Diane Pinegar Elkins of Tullahoma, Darlene Pack of McMinnville and Brittany Gilreath of Summitville.

Services were held Tuesday at Manchester Funeral Home Chapel with Earl Cairnes officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Kenneth Vaughn Welch, 91
Sparta resident Kenneth Vaughn Welch, 91, died Jan. 28 at Life Care Center of Sparta.

He is survived by his wife, Beulah Erwin Welch; son and daughter-in-law, James A. and Barbara Welch of McMinnville; daughters and sons-in-law, Carolyn and Afif Srouji of Brentwood, Patricia and Don Billingsley of Oneida, Mary Beth and Don Swindell of Antioch; grandchildren and their spouses, John and Dani Welch of Kentucky, Allison and Charles Nunley of Murfreesboro, Anissa and Howard Grant of Franklin, Mark Srouji of Brentwood, Thomas and David Billingsley of Oneida, Russell and Spencer Swindell of Antioch; great-grandchildren, Erin and Morgan Nunley of Murfreesboro, Houston Grant of Franklin and Evan Welch of Kentucky.

Services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at Thurman Funeral Home in Sparta with burial following at Stringtown Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. tonight at Thurman Funeral Home.
