May Jacobs McKinney, 88

McMinnville resident formerly of Lafayette, Ala., May Jacobs McKinney, 88, died May 21 at NHC.

A homemaker, church secretary, and bookkeeper, she was a lifelong member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church in Chamber County, Ala.

She was preceded in death by 10 siblings; her daughter, Mary Jacobs; and husbands, Gordon Jacobs and Hal McKinney.

She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jack and Jeanine Jacobs of McMinnville; grandchildren, Lesli Jacobs and Tanner Jacobs of Nashville; step-grandchildren, Chris Richey of Phoenix, Ariz., Matt Richey of Winston-Salem, N.C., and Lindsey Richey of Savannah, Ga.; stepson and daughter-in-law, Tony and Jeannie McKinney of Talladega, Ala.; grandchildren, Kim Reid of Tuscaloosa, Ala., Katie Crane of Roswell, Ga., and Matt McKinney of Montgomery, Ala.; stepdaughter, Kathy Moore of Auburn, Ala., and grandchildren, Jennifer Moore and Hal Moore of Auburn; several nieces, nephews and friends.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. today at Chapel Hill UMC in Lafayette, Ala., with Rev. Russell Williams and Martha Jane Moe officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Visitation will be held from noon until time of service today at the church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chapel Hill UMC Cemetery Fund, 23180 Highway 431, Lafayette, Ala. 36862.
