John Casey Killian, 85

McMinnville resident and Grundy County native John Casey Killian, 85, died Jan. 23 at National Healthcare Center after an extended illness.

A retired civil engineer with the Tennessee Valley Authority and a member of New Hope Baptist Church in White County, he was the son of Burl Franklin and Hallie Frances Killian of Grundy County.

He is survived by his wife, Charlene Earle Killian; children, Karol Ann Killian McCracken of Chapel Hill, N.C., and Dr. Cynthia Sue Killian of Memphis; grandchildren, Cayce Cristin Jacobson of Kennesaw, Ga., and Dr. Michael McCracken of Birmingham, Ala.; great-grandchildren, Claire McCracken of Birmingham, Ala., Kyle and Christopher Jacobson of Kennesaw, Ga.; brother, Glyn Killian of Beersheba Springs; sisters, Lora Smith of Chattanooga, and Mildred Johnson of Sparta; several nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at High’s Chapel with James Wright and Barry Whitaker officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. View Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. today and 11 a.m. until time of service Thursday at High’s.

High Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
