Postal employees donate bonuses

There is no Christmas humbug at McMinnville Post Office, as employees once again donated money they earned for their hard work to local organizations.

McMinnville Post Office was one of nine offices to be recognized for exceptional Voice of the Employees scores in the Tennessee District by district manager Denny Unger. The Voice of the Employee program is an internal measuring system that reflects employee satisfaction, management practices and customer service.

Although post office employees could have spent the money on themselves, they have chosen to make a child?s Christmas special by donating $250 each to the Tennessee Department of Human Services and the Warren County Rescue Squad.

During the presentation of the donations, DHS representative Kelly Sullivan and rescue squad representative Gary Webster congratulated the employees on the selflessness and expressed their thanks. DHS will use the money for their foster children?s division, and the rescue squad will use its money to buy toys for less fortunate children.

?I am extremely proud to be a part of this great team,? said postmaster Charles Bogle. ?They could have kept the money for themselves but they didn?t. Once again, they thought about the community.?

This is not the first time post office employees have thought of others before themselves. Back in August, the employees received $500 for outstanding VOE scores and donated that to the Warren County Food Bank.
